Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)
OPEC is an intergovernmental permanent Organization, consisting of 12 oil producing countries. The purpose of the Organization, among others, is to coordinate and unify the petroleum policies of its Member Countries and ensure the stabilization of oil markets.
OPEC's objective is to co-ordinate and unify petroleum policies among Member Countries, in order to secure fair and stable prices for petroleum producers; an efficient, economic and regular supply of petroleum to consuming nations; and a fair return on capital to those investing in the industry.
Headquartered in Vienna, OPEC has been a major player in the energy market for years. This Committee will simulate the yearly OPEC Conference, which brings together all Oil Ministers from the member countries.
